KOHLER & FROHLING POSTCARD FROM THE 1893 CHICAGO COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION

New York City and
Beyond - 1861

Kohler & Frohling was the first California wine producer to establish an agency in New York in 1860. An office in Boston soon followed. By the 1870s, Kohler & Frohling wines were sold in every major city across the U.S. and the firm had distribution centers in England, Germany, China, Japan, Russia, and South America. Ultimately, Kohler & Frohling merged with others, and had a virtual monopoly on the California wine market. The industry expanded and flourished, due to the expertise and shrewdness of Kohler,

a born merchandiser, and his passion for promoting California wine.
